Blockshow Europe 2018 has announced the winners for its blockchain industry leaders poll, in which several thousand votes were cast to crown the most influential woman in European blockchain, and the most influential company.
And the Winner Is…
Dr Quy Vo-Reinhard, co-founder of the HIT foundation was announced as the winner, and she has already been able to respond to the award.
I believe the blockchain can bring a bright future to the global community. I was born in a country where, 40 years ago, a majority of people believed women belonged in the kitchen. I feel that I’ve come a long way: being here, speaking, and receiving an award for what I’m doing for women in tech and at the HIT Foundation is amazing. I suggest next year there should be a category for men, too — we all work really hard in this industry. It has nothing to do with gender and everything to do with capability and performance.
HIT Foundation Helping People Take Back Control
The HIT (Health Information Traceability) allows people to take back control of their medical data, and even make money. As the website says:
The Health Information Traceability (HIT) Foundation offers a marketplace that allows individuals to digitize and monetize their health data and trace its usage. It addresses two key issues plaguing the healthcare industry: 1) Monopolization of health data leading to siloes and inefficiencies 2) lack of incentives for individuals to digitize and share their health data. It is through the individual and the use of blockchain technology that a meaningful exchange of data can take place in a fair, secure and transparent manner.
Along with Vo-Reinhard, other founders are listed as Dr. Eberhard Scheuer, Elizabeth Chee and Aleksandar Nikov.
Meanwhile, the winners of the company award were BitFury, a large full-service blockchain technology company. According to the company site:
The Bitfury Group is the largest full-service blockchain technology company in the world. We develop and deliver cutting-edge software and hardware solutions necessary for businesses, governments, organizations and individuals to securely move assets across the blockchain.
BlockShow continues for the rest of today (28th May) and tomorrow (29th May).
