The announcement by the “shark tank entrepreneur” and owner of the Dallas Mavericks came as a response to a tweet by a fan asking when Maverick tickets will be bought with Bitcoin. Mark Cuban responded, ”next season”.

He also went on to confirm the plans during an email interview with Bloomberg on Tuesday. Afterwards, he was asked to give more details concerning the plans by Dallas Mavericks and its interactions with cryptocurrency in the future. He said,
We will be taking Ether as well. As far as tokens, we will be taking tokens originated by companies we have business relationships.
Currently, the NBA is halfway through its 2017-2018 season by about 80 games. It kicked off in October and will end in April. If plans by Mark Cuban and the Dallas Maverick is anything to go by, the 2018-2019 season that will begin right after the June playoffs is sure to be exciting for cryptocurrency enthusiasts and Maverick’s fans.
Although Cuban has not issued a detailed response of what exactly the fans will pay for with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, he mentioned that the move to accept Bitcoin and cryptocurrency payments Is set to enable people “buy products in Krypto to prove a point” he said this via the email to Bloomberg where he further added,
We are happy to make it easy for them. And for Existing Mav’s fans who prefer to spend Krypto currency we are happy to make it easy for them
Mark Cuban a Former non-believer of Bitcoin
Despite the fact that Mark Cuban was once a skeptic of the nascent cryptocurrency industry, Mavericks plan to accept Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in the next season will see Maverick join the bandwagon of a select number of firms including Overstock that have since moved to hold cryptocurrency payments while converting to USD at the sale point.
Furthermore, the billionaire last year made a number of investments in the cryptocurrency space including initial coin offerings and cryptocurrency hedge funds.
