Snoop Dogg Set To Perform At VIP Ripple Event

0

Ripple has announced that it will be hosting a VIP XRP community night in New York city next month. The event will bring together organizations, crypto exchanges and wallets, developers, crypto advocates and entrepreneurs. American rapper Snoop Dogg will give a live music performance as well.

Much of this group will be in New York City for Blockchain Week next month. As special thanks to those who are building liquidity, validating transactions, developing on the XRP Ledger, looking to xRapid as a liquidity solution and sharing the good word about XRP’s many benefits, we’re hosting a special night.

It is an invite-only event, however, 10 tickets will be offered through two competitions on Twitter. The first contest, Twitter Trivia, will take place on Ripple’s account on April 26. Followers will be asked three questions and the first 8 people with correct answers will receive the tickets. The second contest, Make the Meme, will require users to write captions for the images posted by Ripple. The owners of the best two captions will be chosen as the winners.

Cryptocurrency is not a new topic for Snoop Dogg. In December 2013, he tweeted that he would be selling his next album for Bitcoins as a joke.

Cryptocurrency exchange, Coinbase, said that they could “make the Bitcoin part a reality”.

Cryptocurrency payment provider, BitPay, also offered their help, which was gladly accepted by the rapper.

While some people applauded Ripple’s recent announcement, others mentioned that this decision was slightly odd. “[T]he main thing about Ripple I liked actually was the formal approach they had. Getting Snoop there feels like “hey look we can be hip too youth”, wrote a Reddit user. Another user said that this would bring Ripple to the front page of news websites and articles, “I don’t know why you all think this is a bad decision on Ripple’s part … This will be great exposure for Ripple.”
