Canadian business executive Don Tapscott has joined SpaceChain’s advisory board, according to a press release today (1st August). Tapscott is the CEO of the Tapscott Group and the co-founder of the Blockchain Research Institute. SpaceChain’s latest addition will join prominent venture capital investor Tim Draper, space entrepreneur and NanoRacks CEO Jeffrey Manber, Bloq co-founder Matthew Roszak, and Blockchain Global co-founder Ryan Xu. SpaceChain’s statement read:
We are thrilled to have Don Tapscott on our Board of Advisors. Don brings to SpaceChain a wealth of blockchain expertise and will provide valuable insight into leveraging the crowd to help us take our project to the next level. We look forward to working with him closely on our space missions and making our vision a reality.
Meanwhile, Tapscott said: “Using blockchain, we can leverage the passion, skills and resources of everyday individuals around the world to pursue humanity’s common interests, including space exploration. This is a bold undertaking, and I’m pleased to be supporting SpaceChain as they work to make it a reality.”
SpaceChain were established in 2017 as an open-source blockchain satellite network which allows for dAPPs to be run in space. They are already a member of Don Tapscott’s Blockchain Research Institute. But they will also be able to draw on Tapscott’s massive range of knowledge about technology and its applications, as can be easily seen from his body of published work, which includes Wikinomics:How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything – an international bestseller.
