The WeAreDevelopers conference took place recently in Vienna, and featured Steve Wozniak’s remarks about Ethereum. During the conference, Wozniak, one of the brains behind the success of Apple, said he saw a bright future in the crypto. In fact, he even compared its future with the current influence asserted by Apple.
Optimism and Enthusiasm
Ethereum interests me because it can do things and because it’s a platform.
According to Forbes, Wozniak happened upon both Bitcoin and Ethereum in its initial stages, although he divested at the beginning of this year. He says he still has one Bitcoin (BTC) and two Ethereum (ETH) for his own experiments when paying for different things.
During his opening speech on Thursday at the conference, Wozniak was quick to call blockchain ‘the next revolution’ that is set to change how we do things. He was optimistic that by the end of the decade, blockchain and cryptocurrency will have achieved its full potential.
Comparing Bitcoin to the U.S. Dollar and Gold
Wozniak’s remarks come hot on the heels of his speech at the Money 20/20 in October last year in Las Vegas, where he said that Bitcoin was better then the US dollar or gold. Wozniak has been involved in several other post-Apple projects. One of these includes his pioneer coding academy, Woz University, which boasts 31 coding centers across the United States.
